Couple of thoughts:

Someone asked about the Iron Chefs ascending music above. It did change and if you Google “Iron Chef Music” the first link that comes up has it, but without attribution.

The piano chords when we’re waiting for the verdict do, I think, come from the Michael Nyman soundtrack for “A Zed and Two Noughts” if memory serves from the old ironchef.com. The reference to track 11 above sounds like the right music, but the clip I heard on Amazon isn’t just the piano chords.

The link to the Mulan clip actually goes to the same STG Overture as in the prior article.

Finally, again if memory serves, right after Kaga says “Allez Cuisine,” we hear the timpani drum beats from “Fanfare for the Common Man” by Aaron Copland. No idea which version.

Anyhow, if you do a followup version, might be worth looking into.

Also, I do not know where a certain piece comes from, and it sounds amazing! I’ve been looking long and hard for it, but I do not know where it comes from. An excerpt of it is played in the King of Iron Chefs tournament part 2, after it is announced that Sakai won. It is Alain Passard’s theme, and excerpts can be heard at 34:45, 35:29, and 35:58. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does anyone know where they’re from?

I just want to know one thing, do you know what songs they use for the challenger intro where they talk about where he has worked and his training and all that? I know they have like maybe 5 or 6 different variation per episode but I don’t know enough scores to find it on my way. Specifically I’m interested in the one where Chen battles Xie in the lobster battle, the song that they used during his introduction about his ascension into the ranks of HeiChiRou.

I will send you my track when I get home just in case it is different from yours. As far as the lower, more sustained piece, I do not know its source.

tuthead: I found that A Zed And Two Noughts soundtrack by Michael Nyman, but Track 11 isnt it.. its a deeper piano sound, but it is similar… perhaps you can please email me your version?

NeoBlisseyX: I really appreciate your work, but is it possible to perhaps email me the details of that rising song? I’m making a movie of the Iron chef with some friends and would *love* to have all the original music! The “pre-verdict” and “rising” are the only pieces I’m missing.

There WILL be a “Music of Iron Chef, Part 4: The Final Confront,” in which I will list most, if not all of the music I have not brought up so far.

So, if it hasn’t been mentioned in Parts 1-3, it will be in Part 4.

It’s just that I will need a lot of time for research, so it might not be ready before the new year. Thank you for your understanding.

If you can get your hands on the Two Zeds and a Naught soundtrack by Michael Nyman, listen to the first 30 seconds of track 11. It is the staccato piano track used right before the announcement of the winner.

(I’m pretty sure there will be a Music of Iron Chef, Part 4, so I’ll make sure it goes in there if you don’t have it.)
